What's Up, Technorati?

First, let me say that I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world. I often have to get help to drill concepts into my thick skull. So, when trying to figure out how to consolidate the two different URLs of my blog for Technorati stats (I changed the name from http://beyondthebrand.typepad.com to www.johnwinsor.com and thus have two URLs that point to my blog) I couldn't figure out if it was possible. Being the ludditte that I am, I went to Technorati's help button and sent them an email pleading for help.

Soon after I sent the email I got a nice canned response with a ticket number and a note saying; "If you don't hear back from anyone within a few business days then please let us know." At the time, I thought to myself, "a few days is unacceptable, especially considering the fact that other companies in the same space, like Typepad, get back to me in a couple of hours."

Well, I guess Technorati was right. I haven't heard from them in two weeks. So, what's up, Technorati? It doesn't matter what industry you're in, if you don't respond to your customer's questions, no matter how silly, you're not going to be in business very long.

Thanks for your post, and I apologise for the tardiness in our support response.

First off, let's get to the meat of your question. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to consolidate the stats for the different URLs of your blog if they are outside of some simple standard canonicalizations (e.g. www.foo.com and foo.com)

We are looking into providing this, perhaps as a subscriber service sometime in the future, but it isn't currently on our roadmap. As a small startup, we have to listen hard to our users and also keep all the systems running, and pay the bills.

With regards to support staffing, I feel your pain, and we're working hard to get back to everyone in 2 business days. But as our popularity has grown, our support requests have grown as well.

So, my apologies for getting the short end of the stick of our growing pains. We'll try to do better in the future. In addition, if you ever aren't getting the treatment you deserve from us, here's my direct contact info:
